From my experience with wall art
Ayumi Nagano
The first seminar of June started with my first experience in wall art! This time, sticking various designs and size stickers on the room’s walls was monotonous. However, it was very challenging to consider the overall balance and think about how to skillfully incorporate the designs.
During the process, everyone actively contributed ideas and worked together. We immersed ourselves in the work without taking breaks; before we knew it, almost two hours had passed. Looking back, I think the creativity, initiative, focus, and cooperation we demonstrated at that time resulted from everyone’s collective concentration on a common goal. I realized that even in small things, immersing oneself can bring vitality and a sense of achievement. It was interesting.
Furthermore, I only felt like I had completed the wall art task at that time. However, upon further reflection, I realized that the process of envisioning the overall picture and placing the stickers resembled nursing in terms of capturing the whole and setting goals for the subject. When I researched it, I discovered that there is a significant connection between nursing and art. I was surprised but also realized that many things in daily life are connected to nursing, even though we may not notice it.
Through this seminar, I realized that immersing oneself in work can bring rewards and that there are unexpected connections to nursing in various aspects of life. I want to utilize this experience, keep my senses sharp, and continue to grow by gaining insights from different situations and perspectives.
