Alumni and thesis research
Yukihiro Noguchi
Master’s program graduate
His master’s research examined a model of diabetes care in which nurse practitioners and physicians work together on an island with limited medical resources. Using clinical records from Tokunoshima, he compared changes in glycemic control between care involving a nurse practitioner and usual care, taking patient characteristics into account. The study examined how communities can organize ongoing care for chronic conditions.
researchmapKanako Fujimoto
PhD in Integrated Sciences, March 2026
Her doctoral research developed infection prevention and control guidelines that support daily life for residents in long-term care facilities. She used a behavioral science framework to analyze input from residents, staff, managers, and external specialists. Through several rounds of consensus building, the study produced ten guidelines to help facilities discuss and decide on measures that suit their circumstances.
